Hello, my name is Sara and I am addicted to grocery shopping…
|My Inventory Sheet
Oh my goodness. Nobody should have this much food just lying around with no plan of putting it in something specific. But, I do. 95% of it is totally good, totally useable, and will last through the end of the week. Because I could always try harder to be frugal, here’s my plan:
- don’t go grocery shopping till next Sunday! (or go to restaurants, or buy coffee)
- use up all my fresh produce
- use up as much of the other stuff in the fridge and freezer as I can
If you’d like to track my progress, stay tuned! And check out my new page
to see how I’m progressing through my inventory list.
It’s embarrassing to admit, but I have been spending over $100 a week on groceries. It’s so, so unnecessary, but I have a habit of going grocery shopping when I’m a) hungry, b) really excited to cook , and c) bursting with a gazillion ideas. Not the best combo if one is trying to save money. And has literally the smallest fridge in Seattle. Additionally, I’d really like to be able to plan my cooking adventures around things that I’d like to show YOU, my darling, how to cook–things that are fun, tasty, adventurous, easy, intentional, sexy–rather than continue on confined by what’s starting to grow stuff in the fridge, or on the counter. (It’s totally sanitary. Don’t even worry about it.)
So, here we go. I’ll let you know how it goes, what I come up with, when I cave and go to the store (but hopefully not), what I learn, etc.
